    Question Cisco 1604 router with cable?

    hey ppl, I have a 1604 Cisco router I want to set up with my cable connection. If I connect the cable to the 1604's e0 port do I need to setup DHCP on int e0 to recognize the modems ip addy? I'm running r11.1 on the 1604 router.What would be the command for this? Any help is appreciated

    My layout:
    cable modem---->e0/Cisco1604/serial------->serial/Cisco1604/e0---->Cisco 2900xl switch------>PC

    Is your cable connection static IP addressing or dynamic IP addressing?
    To each his/her own.

    You can try:
    IP ADDRESS NEGOTIATED

    I think this command works in IOS v11.3 and up.
