    microsoft VM security update

    I got message that there is a new security update available, went to website and connected ready to down load 5.1 mb. The standard message appears saying it will take about 20 min to down load, and then nothing, no activity whatsoever. I tried waiting patiently for about 1.5 hours, nothing.. what is happening, and what do I need to do. I had disconnected my norton and Anti virus. I tried 3 or 4 times each time with the same result.

    I went to windows update catalogue and the download for ME is showing as the first one - pressed more info - nothing came up in the box, tried to download it, it just sat there - it is not you!

    Edit: It started downloading after 5 mins wait on broadband.

    So try the windows update catalog method.
    Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

    Windows Update site must be down
    I couldn't get the updates either, but the updates for Office products was flying.
    Same thing happening today - Friday 13th
