    Post Partitioning IDE Raid 0

I was just wondering if its ok to partition a raid 0 array. It shows up in FDisk as one drive and I will let you partion it, but is this ok. I havnt found much info on partioning Raid.

I understand that one drive fails all data will be lost. When it says fail do they mean, the drive is no longer useable or just a bad sector or something like that?

You can treat Raid 0 just like any harddrive. Partition it and format the partitions just as you normally would, the OS is blind to the fact that it is two drives.
Any failure that would keep you from accessing info on a single drive will do the same on Raid 0 if either drive fails. The thought is that two drives are twice as likely to have a failure as one, but I don't think this is statistically correct (I'm not a statistician). Either way, not backing up your info is like saying it's safer to run in front of one car than two.
