Need new diagnostic software, recommendations?
Ok, the diagnostics software that we use in our shop is pretty dated, and we need something newer. Not sure if I'm calling it correctly, but by diagnostic software I mean:
1. Needs to be able to test every major component; memory, cpu, motherboard, video card, hard drive, video card.
2. Needs to operate independent of an OS. IE, bootable floppy or CD.
3. Needs to have support for newer architecture, able to test new components.
4. Needs to come with a certain, albeit limited time upgrades.
5. Needs to be licensed for commercial use.
6. Needs to cost less than a couple hundred dollars.
Do you guys know of anything that might fit our needs here? I'd appreciate any response.

That's what I was thinking
Actually, I don't think money is the issue, it's finding the right software to be able to do our job correctly. My only complaint is that there is no download evaluation copy. I realize it'd be nearly impossible to enforce an evaluation copy, because it's software that is meant to run on many many different computers, and it'd be too easy to get around. I just wish there was some way to try it out before we buy it. If it does what we want, then I'm sure the owner of the shop would have no qualms about spending the money. We just blew $400 on this absolutely worthless software package... it doesn't even work right. I'm sure he'd be happy to get what he wants for $260

I've used both Troubleshooter and Micro-Scope, and recommend them both (in that order). No idea how much they cost though, and you have to order special dongles if you want to test most external ports with them.
