Post old Swan 486 bios password

    Greetings-
I have a rather old SWAN system that is password protected on bootup (Don't know the password). Is there any way to clear this? The battery is soldered on the motherboard. The BIOS will pop out, if that will help. This is a 486sx.

    Thanks,

    Alan West

I'm not familiar with your particular motherboard but most of them have a jumper located close by the battery...called Clear CMOS or something similar. Jumper that puppy out for about a minute and try it again.

If that doesn't work and if you are comfortable with soldering, you might just lift one lead of that battery for about 5 or 10 minutes...resolder it back in.

    Good Luck!
