We use Remedy, at http://www.remedy.com/ and it is tedious, but thorough. Weasel used Norton Help Desk, and loved it. Hope that helps!

We use Access to and want to move away from it.
So far the helpdesk applications we have tried only make for more paperwork.
I'd especially like to find something in the FREE range since we didn't budget for new software.
I'm in the same boat with Buddy.

I use Notepad.
Not trying to be crass, just keep everything simple.

TrackIt! has a hel-desk option built-in. So when you get a call you can quickly see the configuration of the workstation and the problem history.
