went the computer starting to boot up I see this error (Bios update data incorrect CPUID 00000F27)
    before upgrape I had:
    intel P4 1.8 GHz
    after:
    intel Celeron 2.0 GHz

Is it a jumperless board if not have you set correct jumpers for voltage and processor type?
Does the manual state it supports both processor types and is the celeron of the correct core type for the board ?

Do you have the motherboard manual and motherboard driver cd?

The information is in there, failing that, read here - asus instructions

I must warn you that if you get the flash wrong, you can cripple the motherboard. This is not something like loading a driver, although in many ways its easier.

The actual procedure is very simple. You do this at your own risk.

I just need to ask is a Celeron 2.0 really an upgrade from a P4 1.8? Have you tried putting your old P4 back in? Also there is a pretty good ASUS Flash Utility . I've used it several times without a problem.
I only post using 100% recycled electrons!!!

Really, P4-1,8G can be faster than Celeron 2 Gig - check it to be sure...

I have a celeron 2.0 and a Pentium 4 2.0 and let me tell you, the cache makes a HUGE difference, not in movie/audio editing and encoding, but in games and 3d apps, its night and day difference. I would have left the P4 in there, it has 512k cache and the celeron only has 128k, thats the only real difference in the cips.
