    WinXP driver for Presario 800 xl550 notebook

    Compaq only has WinMe driver. Won't install on XP. NO driver for xp on their site. The me documentation says it is an Askey modem. Windows finds pci modem-tries to install hsp56 but says inf not found. Any ideas?

    Edit: more info it is a HSP56 MR(at least that is what xp tries to install)

    Go to Driver guide and search for HSP56 MR. Third one down in the search I did said it was for XP.

    Also Google search gives you a few promising looking hits.

    Askey site has XP drivers....listed by S/N though.

    If you require the driver for internal modem module of Notebook PC, Please ask the Notebook PC manufactur(ex:Compaq,IBM) for help, Askey produces modem hardware We have no right to distribute any driver for any OS. from the Askey site.
    I will try some of the drivers I found at Google and Driverguide. Just another instance of Compcrap poor support. Two years ago it was a 3000.00+ notebook.
