After reading the ATI forums... I am staying with 2.3... seems that 3.0 with DX9 hasn't quite got the bugs ironed out

I thought it was just the new name for their driver packs like Nvidia with detonators.

The catalysts, like the nvidia detonators and now the via hyperions are the new drivers.

Supposedly, the issues between dx9 and the drivers have been ironed out with catalyst 3.0a. Supposedly...

I believe there are still issues. I haven't installed those Catalyst 3.0 drivers yet, but I think I'll hold off for now. My system works fine with the catalyst 2.5.

    10/12/2002.

is the 2.5 or 3.0 worth going to?

I'd stay away from 3.0 for now.
The 2.5 version has some bug fixes from 2.4.
But if you aren't having any issues right now, then stick with the ones you got for now.

Omegacorner This guy takes the drivers that ATI and Nvidia release, then rewrites them so they work... click on the ATI link and then choose Mobility... have fun
