    Question XP not reconnecting to mapped drives

    We are having a problem on several small networks with Windows XP workstations not reconnecting to mapped drives.

    In every case the drives that have been mapped to are on computers that are constantly on.

    When the workstations are started they always show the mapped drive under My Computer, but with a red X indicating it is not connected. In this state we cannot access files on this drive through applications.

    We can re-establish the map by simply double clicking on the X'd out drive, but this isn't the point. The map should re-establish as the computer starts.

    Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.
