formating hard drive
hi there, is it ok, to format my hard drive, using the utility, in the set-up mode,this is the process i use, the other day.

If your disk is not partitioned then you will not be able to format it.
An obstacle is something you see when you take your eyes off your goal.

Intel Mod
The Format option present in some BIOS Setups is a low-level format similar to that used to initialise drives after they were manufactured. It is not the same as Format from a boot floppy etc. It is normally only used if there is a problem with the drive or something like a REALLY heavy boot sector virus. It will have taken a very long time, right?
As Eagle said, after a LLF, you will have to use FDISK to partition the drive with an active primary partition, and format it with the Format program on a boot disk.
