Also congrats to you both....
Why was she allowed to be in labor so long? When my son was born, similar circumstances and at about 17 hours they started to prepare for csection as they said anything more than 24 hours after water breaks increases risk of infection to mother AND baby...and at that point they were already pumping me full of antibiotics......he ended up coming on his own after 19.5 hours.....I would be curious to know why they waited....

Update - I believe in miracles
yesterday when we went to see Aidan, the doctors told us that when they got his blood pressure down his heart function began to improve. Also the kidney medicine had increased his urine function, and his resp. function was also much improved. we were thrilled, and I was focused on making one small step a day. a little progress here, a little progress there until some time down the road he would slowly get better.
Today we arrived to find our beautiful little man laying in his bed breathing on his own without a ventilator. the central line he had in his arm yesterday was removed and he looked remarkably better.
the doctor immediately came over to us and began to tell us that his heart was not as swollen and was functioning normally. his lungs were no longer hazy in the chest X-Rays. the kidney specialist told us that the clot in his kidney was not extending and was not expected to. As such they would not be removing the kidney and would let nature take it's course and dissolve the clot naturally. he even suggested that that kidney may function at some point when the clot is dissolved.
they made every indication that our baby would be coming home soon and that within a few days we would be able to hold him. we still need to look at the viral cultures which will continue to grow for a couple of more days, but so far they are negative.
I can't thank you guys enough for your thoughts and prayers, I don't doubt that they helped in some way. thank you so much.

However many times I see God do good things for people, it still mists me over a bit. Wonderful news kato, sounds like the medical people have done well too.
