    ZEOS motherboard BIOS password

    Hello,

I have an old ZEOS motherboard most likely the "Martin" board.

I decided to get the system running one day and found out there is a security password set for the BIOS, which i do not know.

I've looked all over the internet for default BIOS passwords but no luck, there was "zeosx" but that did not work, as did any of the more common passwords.

I have no manual, cannot find a manual, the battery is hard soldered in and i can't find a "clear" jumper for the CMOS.

ZEOS was bought out by MicronPC in the 90's and i've looked all over their site for info, but all they have is info on newer boards.

Well my question is, does anyone know a backdoor password for this thing or where i may obtain info for it?

I've tried more of the larger motherboard sites with no luck.

here is some info on it.

    The Martin
    Board P/N 010-0035-XX
    ----------

    Processors Speeds
    486Sx/Dx/Dx2 25/33/50/66

During boot, the system should show "Phoenix BIOS 82C480 82C113 486
BIOS version Q3.07.01" and further down on the screen will appear
a number like "452-0018-xx" for non-SCSI and "452-0019-xx" for SCSI
where "xx" is the revision number of the Flash BIOS.

When the Adaptec 6360 SCSI chip is added or removed, the Flash BIOS
    must be updated.

There were some important features added to various revisions of the
BIOS They are detailed as follows:

    Non-SCSI
Revision 452-0018-11 - Allows use of non-parity SIMMs, removes
    VL-Bus Master setting in CMOS.
Revision 452-0018-12 - Adds "Green" power saving features.

    SCSI
Revision 452-0019-11 - Allows use of non-parity SIMMs, removes
    VL-Bus Master setting in CMOS.
Revision 452-0019-12 - Adds "Green" power saving features.

    Sorry for the long post.

    Thanx

    You can try Killcmos

Note that many av's will show the file to be viral and /or trojan... this is because of what the program does.

    more useful info here
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

I can't load from anything such as hard drive or floppy.

As soon as i boot i get some errors then "press F1 to resume or F2 to enter setup" F1 or F2 will ask for password. Then i'm stuck.

I've emailed Micron to see if they know anything but i'm not gonna hold my breath.

The error i get is "Memory size does not match CMOS - Run Setup"

Then i get a notice that "Fixed Disk 0 has been removed"

I have been thinking about desoldering the battery but that will be a later action.
