 "ValueRam" Good/Bad/Difference?
A question to all:
Kingston puts out "ValueRam", how is this different then any other memory. Is it less quality? Slower then other memory? Would you use it in your systems?

Been using a stick of it in my PC for over a year.
In my experience, RAM either works or it doesn't. I just bought a stick of some generic RAM, DOA. Have to take it back today.

i use it all the time. it works great in newer systems, but it doesn't work in many older systems. the mobo has to support 32x8 memory chips
take care and tempt not the fates

Before switching over to Corsair in my AtlhlonXP box, my previous systems (1997 and up) all usde Kingston's ValeRAM in all sorts of combinations from 16Mb to 768Mb.
Never had a problem.
I even used to put those sticks in servers in a hospital.

Maybe a better question is:
What brands are BAD?
I've haven't had RAM go bad, but I have gotten DOA RAM.

No-name brands are bad. Especially sticks where the manufacturer (Azen, Spectek, Kingston, PNY, Crucial, Corsair for example) isn't clearly identified. Some manufacturer's are starting to use holograms on their labels to prevent others from passing their low-end RAM off as something else.
Or a stick of RAM with a name on the individual chips that you don't recognize, can be a sign of lower quality.
It doesn't mean it won't work, it just means there's a greater chance it won't.

Zeus Componants is definately on the crappy side, has a lifetime warranty and all, but it makes your games stutter very bad.

Another thing to watch out for when it comes to buying and using no name ram. They might be refurbished or reused ram as well. Look at the manufacturing date on the memory chip before buying.
I like Kingston Valueram, very few issues with them.
They hold their own just like corsair, crucial, mushkin and others.
AZEN, stay away from them.
