Question SCSI controller - Adaptec 2940AU w/ Seagate

I have the Adaptec 2940AU PCI SCSI controller with a Seagate ST32155N as the only drive. The drive is terminated and set to Terminate Power from drive (the two default jumper settings). When I enter the SCSI Select setup, I always get a time-out error when I try to setup the drive. Is this common? Is there something I'm forgeting? Any help or suggestions will do..

The 2940 card has it's own bios
Make sure your hard drive settings in setup are set to NONE.
