    Post cd-rom drives missing in win xp

    all of a sudden my dvd and dvd writer drives are missing in win xp. went inside device manger and the controller had esclaimation mark on them . I scan for boot virus but their is no virus I backup the cdrom drivers and I get the same result I know that the cdrom work. what can I do to correct this . thanks in advance for any help.

    here you are and it is not just easy cd that causes this, try the entire fix.

    Well I just had a similar problem in XP with my CDRW. i followed the link NooNoo provided and it fixed the problem.
    I think the problem is either an ID10T or PEBCAK error
