    Inventory Solution

Anyone have some software suggestions for a program that might make getting a hardware and or software inventory of machines on our domain easy? Preferably something web-based and free

Yes, Belarc works great for just a single workstation (I've used it for a couple of years) but I need something more for a company-wide inventory. If I could get the info Belarc provides for all of my boxes, that would be hype.

So what you are looking for is something that can be administered to pull the information from all PC’s on the domain, to a central location without going desktop to desktop? When you want that kind of service you usually have to pay for that software…

I have used AIDA32 to retrieve "Belarc" type info from remote computers. You have to install the AIDA32 software on the machine but then you can get reports from it in the future over the network. I roll out the AIDA software through a forced software distribution in Win2k so I don't actually have to physically install it.

Search download.com for AIDA32 if you want to try it out. Yes, it's free.

    gb, looks intersting.

I know there are lots of ways to pay for it, but if I can do it on the cheap my boss will like it. Maybe he'll let me Super Size my lunch for free sometime.
