System Restore on Wrong Drive
I needed more space so I Ghosted an XP Pro install from a 15gb drive to a 40gb drive. I have since formatted the 15gb and have been using it for storage.
I needed to use XP's System restore, but I got an error about how it may have been turned off. I found that the service was still running and the System Properties System Restore tab said it was on but it was monitoring the G: drive, not the C: drive. G: is the original 15gb drive.
The only thing I can find was this:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...NoWebContent=1
It says there that my problem cant exist.
How can I get System Restore working on the C: drive again?

What happens when you try to use the control panel applet to reassign the drive to use?

Control Panel, System, System Restore is not there?
Then perhaps turn it off and back on again?

I dont have an icon in the control panel that is called "System Restore", but I do have "System". System has a System Restore tab, but no buttons to change any options.
This is what I have:

Notice it says monitoring G:
I have tried turning it off and back on again.

OK... Try going to safe mode - login as admin, turn it off, then start, run, type in sfc click ok
When its finished reboot to normal mode and turn it back on.

I ran SFC. Event viewer says I replaced c:\windows\system32\oleaut32.dll but thats all.
I ended up disabling the service and rebooting. After that the Systen Restore tab gave my options. I disabled it on G: and enabled on C:
Thanks alot NooNoo for all your help!
