New file in Windows/Temp can't delete.
I suddenly have a file called ZLT06829.tmp in my windows/temp directory. If I try to delete it it says it is being used by a program. Can't delete it in safe mode. The file always has a created date of the time I boot up. I suspect it is from a Windows update. Anyone else have anything like this?

try booting computer with a win98 startup disk or win98 cd.
get to a command prompt and remove the file..
by booting from disk or cd you are not using any windows resourcess.
let us know.

Do you use zone alarm by any chance?

I have several temp files that won't delete and there is no tracking them either.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Yes I do. I thought based on the name maybe that was it. Interestingly when I use Internet Washer to delete it the file attempts to access the internet! then it asks if I want to delete it and a dos box comes up showing it was deleted but it is still there. I recently had the lop.com thing and thought maybe that was it.

Supposedly(based on my google search) if you shut down zone alarm you should be able to delete it.

That's it. In fact when I shut down ZoneAlarm the file deletes itself. You must be a better googler than I. What search words did you use?
