    Oh Yeah

    We know him all to well as Mat said. And we have the advantage of listening to his spew on a regular basis live. Wait thats not an advantage Good Lord what am I saying?

    Just to nit-pick, a microphone is not "supported" by the audio driver. It simply connects to the ADC on the sound card. The computer does not know nor care if it is a microphone, stereo, CD player, etc. It just reads the signal from whatever audio source happens to be plugged into that port...Or for that matter, whatever voltage source happens to be connected. The ADC on a sound card makes a great cheap ADC for measurement, etc.

    Anyway microphones arent even installed by going to add new hardware, they arent even recognized at all and the PC doesnt care or know wether a mic is connected or not, the closest thing that will be detected is the sound card.
