I wish I was a Dell intern
You're attractive. Everyone teaches you the intricacies of PC Repair and construction. All the people around you are happy and excited to be working. Hottie co-workers. And, apparently, you intern for the best pc maker in the world!

Oh, I forgot to mention one major benefit:
Their PCs never break. At least, that's what they say.

Yeah I think I'd choose working with the hotties over working with that cow that sounds like the Brain from 'Pinkie and the Brain'.

Yeah, but if you were a tech intern for Dell, you'd have to move to India

Dell does make some good PCs, I know several people who swear by them. They do have a good rep for service and support, I guess that's mostly to their home customers though.
We had several instances of absolutely abyssmal support from Dell here where I work. We had purchased hundreds of their PCs and had planned a great many more purchases. We stopped buying them due to the terrible support we were experiencing and I seriously doubt our organization will ever buy from them again.

If it's true that wherever you go, there you are: how come so many people look lost?

We purchased around 150 machines from them last year, and never even let them bid on our order of 130 machines for this year.
The tech support was OK, we had a couple machines with problems and they sent someone out right away.
Their customer service Sucks. We made a mistake on a small order (2 machines) and wanted to return them. We never even opened the boxes. We went back and forth with them for over a month and then they said they could not take them back because it was over 30 days. We finally purchased the machines at a discounted price close to 3 months later. That was the last time we will ever buy a dell.
They lost us as a customer because they would not let us return two computers.

Are you serious? Is that really where the Tech Support people are located?

Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Dell support.
Dell desktop suppoort for home users is in india, support for business users and enterprise customes is in bray, Ireland. Plus some in Bracknell, UK. They have their own installation teams and microsoft gods. I never deal with India, just Ireland and it's quite good. We get there in the end.
I suppose i am biased, i fix Dell stuff everyday. As for the jumping through hoops bit, yes. That does happen but that increases the chance of a first visit fix. ie sending the engineer out with the correct part.
