    Firewire to USB

I have a recording interface for guitar/ vocals that is firewire. I wanted to record to my ASUS notebook that only has usb and no dock or PCMCIA slot...

Does a firewire to usb converter exist?

    I'm having trouble finding one.

    Thanks!

Firewire can't be used on a USB port by getting a plug adapter.

I only know of one converter that was produced as a DV adapter, and it would only work for transferring video from a DV camera. If the laptop has no PCMCIA, I don't know of a way to utilize that audio interface.

Guess they need a different new/used laptop with a built in firewire port or option to expand for one.
