Boot CD - Laptop
Have 6 Laptops to load withXP etc
Have an unattended install disk for XP SP1 to do the installs but it is not recognised in the QSI CD Drives
Anyone know what boot type these drives accept and can I change my ISO file on the server?
Really want to avoid 6 Xcopies of i386 folder

Just curious, does the cdrom read the disks in Windows? Anyway, what type boot files are you using? boot.bin and boot.cat? If so I believe you can try a standard command.com, io.sys, msdos.sys followed by cdrom drivers in your autoexec and config sys files which you can burn on to the cd rom. If you need info on how to do this I have the directions somewhere and will try to find them?

Hi Techs
The ISO CDS work OK
Its the WindowsXP CD that isnt recognised
No options in the Insyde Software BIOS to change things
Cannot remember what the Boot files are that XP uses
Will not fire up with a Original Disk either. Halts on boot with CD Disk not recognised
So I doesnt recognise the boot file on the CD
Windows has no problem with the disks

If I understand you right you have made a bootable cdrom with sp1 on it along with a WinXP preinstallation (or watever they call it with winxp) that contains the info to install winxp with your options and then to run sp1. Your bootable cd needs the cab, err.. i386 setup files on the original Winxp cdrom.
Windows XP cdrom does not use the Boot.cat and boot.bin files to startup. Have you tried using your cdrom burning software to take the winxp cd and add it's files to a bootable cd using a boot.cat and boot.bin- or the other way, to add the winxpcdrom files to your bootable cd?.
AS to why the qsi cd won't boot off the windows cd rom is probably that it only can boot from a boot.cat and boot.bin and not from the Winxp style boot files.
The link in the previous post should fix your problem, if not try what I suggested.

And please note that the instructions I posted are not for an unattended install just a regular bootable CD.
However maybe you can use the instructions in the link as a reference to workout the 'bootable' issue while adding in or modifying your 'unattended' options.
If that makes any sense

Thanks
I dont think what I have on the CD Matters
Its the mode of Booting the BIOS will Accept
The Bios is looking for a Non-Emulation CD
Your instructions say Nero will create that.
Hopefully it will work.
Standy by!
