No sound from Sound Blaster Live CT4870

    Facts:
    Windows XP Pro
    PC Chips socket A mobo
    SiS 730 integrated audio
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live CT4870

Disabled onboard audio, installed card, installed drivers, installed update patch, tried all outputs (black, green, red, blue) card diagnostics indicate no problems, but no audio emits from card.

    Any ideas?

Green is the speaker output - did you try a pair of headphones in the green socket? (not speakers, headphones)
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Just tried the headphones suggestion, and no sound emits.

    I'VE GOT IT!!!!

Creative Labs is sooooooo sneaky!!! They burry the real controls needed in the surround mixer software. if you don't install that & uncheck digital only, then no audio will emit.

By the way, sounds better than the SiS730, too.

Errr ummm 'no sound' will emit from the analogue connections (all the ones you originally tried) if the use 'digital only' is ticked (which you have to deliberately tick in the install or set via its property sheets - I know I just did one ... maybe accidentally ?) ... but its fixed ... so job's a winner !
