    Power Supply Compatibility

I'm going to be building a computer soon, and I'm starting to gather the parts now. I'm looking at using an AMD Duron processor witht he appropriate motherboard. I saw a case that I like online, but the power supply is listed as a "Duro 400 watt" and they say it's "Intel P4 and AMD XP/MP Compatible." Will this work with an AMD Duron processor and it's motherboard as well as the XP/MP lines, or isn't it backwards compatible? Thanks.

How about a link to the case?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

While not vouching for it's quality, it will do what you want it to. Durons, Celerons, XPs Mps and P4s.

Yeah, I know it might not be the best case around, but it'll do what I need it to. I just wanted to make sure the power supply would work. Thanks for the help.

Hmm, since there's a thread on it already, i've been wondering

I know p4's have that extra 12V connector, but do AthlonXP's require that, or any other connector besides the standard/old ATX power supplies?

Nope. Though another 12v connector is often handy

Ive seen some Soyo boards use that connector....

Why I couldnt tell you, nothing on their white papers tells you what it does of if it really needed at all.

They seem to run fine with or without though.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
