    Phantom message in Outlook...

So I have an account in my Outlook XP program that says it keeps trying to send a message. Well, that account cant actually send out so I always have to read the stupid error message... but there is no e-mail in my outbox. Any clues???

    No viruses either.
If its not broke, then upgrade anyways!

If the account can't send email, why is it there? Delete the profile...

unfortunately, that profile uses 3 different e-mail accounts. That particular account can only receive mail. It doesnt send any.

Errr just delete (or rename if you prefer) OUTBOX.dbx, next time you open outlook it should just make you another one - this (hopefully) should clear up whatever has pressumably corrupted it

    EDIT !

Hang on, you numpty, you! Confus-ed - You are Confus-ed !!! ... that's Outlook Express (& even then its not neccessarily right - different versions of OE store it in various places all outbox.something, but whichever ending delete that !) ... This refers ... Outlook 97 or whatever stores this in a .pst ! There's an 'inbox' repair tool ... but I dunno if there's an outbox repair tool or whether the inbox tool fixes the outbox too !

Before I go mad (well madder!) tell us just which version of 'Outlook' we are talking about, please

You have to tell me these things

Try this then Using the Inbox Repair Tool (inbox tool repairs 'personal folders' which I guess includes outbox, appropriatley - most confus-ing ! )
