    Question the web

    i have two questions.what would allow you get on-line/sign-on but not let you open web pages. it's a dial-up connection.the modem is an intel 536ep v92.
    also what would cause a home page to keep changing.even after going to
    I E properties and resetting it?

    Get yourself a copy of AdAware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ and get the messes cleaned up. A copy of Spybot Search&Destroy from http://security.kolla.de/ would be a good compliment to AdAware to be sure that you get everything, but be careful what you let Spybot do since it will possibly delete some things other than spyware.

    YES, RG nailed it!!
    Plus, apply all critical updates to Windows and do a complete virus scan.
    Porn dialers are the usual culprits with the changed home page problem.
    Man, you must admit, they are good at what they try to do!!!

    The first part ( not being able to view webpages ) might also be your tcp/ip is corrupted.

    Saw this on a dell running xp and the easiest thing we found (after messing with the thing for several hours) was a reinstall.
