Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Vlue.. DS not working
Hello folks!
I got a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Digital (Value), the prob
with it is that it's not letting me hear any thing from DS DS3D
(Direct-X Direct Sound / Direct Sound 3D ). I meen, that
I don't have sound in programs that use DS / DS3D as their
output. God bless Foobar2000 and Winamp'z "wave_out.dll"!
This way I can hear my music....
During my eforts to make DS / DS3D work, I tried the folloiwng
things :
*Uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them -> didn't work out
*Uninstalled and stuck the sound card in to a diffrent
PCI slot and installed the Drivers again -> didn't work to.
*Checked the BIOS for any PCI IRQ stacks, nothing conflicted
all was good, nither the DMA.
*Removed any trace from of my old sound card from the
registry, rebooted and still DS not working.
*Did a totall, Uninstall, delete the files from windows.
installed and still, DS not working!!
*I even tried to downgrade my *Creatives Blaster TNT
hardware acceleration, and still no resault!
*I'v removed my Blaster TNT out of my comp and turned
on my On board AGP video card, still no resault.
HELP! What should I do?!?!?!?
here are my PC specs :
Win98 SE Retail
Pentium III 450 MHZ
128 MB Ram 133 MHZ SD-Ram
Maxtor 6.4 GB HD at 5400 RPM
Creative Blaster Riva TNT 16 MB
Fly Video 1 (A TV Tuner for the PC)
and
Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Digital (Value).
THX ahead!

Do you have Digital output Only Selected? Try unchecking it if it is.

I corrected it! yeaha!
In case some one has fell over
this problem too, then here is
what i did to correct it :
1)If you installed your drivers,
uninstall them tottaly ! ! ! !
2)Now if you have a win98/se
with Direct X v7.0 installed,
then do the following :
-Install the drivers
------->Reboot
-Install Direct X v8.0/v8.1 or
Direct X v9.0/a/b/c
------->Reboot
This should correct it, in case
that you have win2000 or
winXP Home/PRO
*check your Direct X verssion
and if it's not the lattest
verssion, then download the
lattest verssion, install the
SB Live! 5.1 drivers, reboot,
then install the Direct X you
downloaded, and reboot again.
This should correct it
* =>To check your directx verssion
press start -> run -> and type : dxdiag.
! ! !=>NOTE: in case you got the lattest
version then search the web for an
directx uninstaller, download it and
the lattest verssion of Direct X,
uninstall your Direct X, using the
Direct X uninstaller, reboot, and
install the Direct X, that you have
downloaded before, reboot, and install
the SB Live! 5.1 dirvers, reboot and
your set!
