    Download Manager

    Good Afternoon.

Has anybody used Net Transport, it is a download manager?
I started using it yesterday and it seems to work well.
I just wondered if anybody has heard anything good or bad
about it. It is free so it can't be to bad.

    Thanks.

Here's a link that works for it !

I can't make any recommendations though ! ... if you ask me all download managers are just 'pants' ... I dunno how they get away with most of the claims they make ? - most just aren't true, at all ! & the ones that are can usually be done yourself with the odd registry tweak ...

However like you say this ones free .... point to note is that one of the main features these 'accelerators' give is to allow multiple simultaneous file streams & resuming (Many servers limit bandwidth per session, however you get around this by getting the second bit of the file while you are getting the first etc etc, you need the server to support 'resumption' for this to work), this also affects resuming paused/stopped downloads, another feature - Not all servers by a long way support these features, many do though !

A question though ... Is this for dial-up or cable/adsl ? There are better 'types' of accelerator for each ...

Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
