red hat and windows
can someone point me in the right direction so i can learn to connect my Red Hat 9 linux box to my windows network
also, now that i'm running Red Hat 9, what are some cool linux sites for downloads, training, etc.

this is a pretty simple tutorial for samba.
also as an aside, you're going to want to disable the firewall on your redhat box as you are learning and trying to do this. run "setup" from a shell and disable the firewall.

Linux Questions
I normally go to these places if I get really stuck. Usually if I have an issue with a particular piece of software I'll use the MAN command (eg man ls, or man tar)

well, you need to tell us what version of redhat, and what you want to connect. Do you want the linux box to connect to the network as client? or do you want it to be a server ? and if so, what is it going to serve? Files, email, web pages?
Come into the chat room and look for me (usually in 8am to 4 pm EST) and I can probably help you out or point you in the direction you need.
