    ? unknown video adapter

I have an older computer that was reformated, however they didn't write down what the video adapter was first. I have pulled the card since it did not autodetect. It has a different styple plug with an adapter on it that I haven't ween before. The card has AGP in big letters on the lower board, NUMBERNINE is also on this board at the top, with PCB #01 ??500-00 REEV 02 TV out ?? ghter PCB ( where the ?? is covered with a copper strip.
There is a small 2x2 board connected on top of the main board. The end says: PCB#01-868602-00 REV 00 m64 4mx16/2mx32 Sdram AGP DVI-I

Can anyone help me find the video drivers for this card?

M64 - does it say nvidia anywhere?

If so www.nvidia.com - click the drivers link at the top of the page and choose M64 or TNT2 driver along with which windows you are running.

    Is this it?

I think Noonoo's suggestion that it's an nVidia-based card is it though, if it has a heatsink.

The "m64" marking points to an OEM TNT2 card - one of the last produced by Number 9 (see http://www.nine.com/n9id.htm to make sure).

"NOTE: If the GPU has a heatsink on it, *DO NOT* pull the heatsink off!
A heatsink means it's either an SR9 or the OEM-only card based on an Nvidia TNT2-M64 GPU, the last two cards Number Nine made"

it's obviously a numbernine video card..so I would guess it is the sr9 model then.

you can find the drivers at:

Excuse me Daffy, but how do you figure that this is an S3 GPU from Number9?
Why, exactly do you say this?
Every indication, so far, leads to M64, as NooNoo originally states.
Did we miss something that you caught?
    If so, let us know.

    BTW:
    lafrei, what OS? win98?
Also, I see the attached "daughter card" but I don't see a TV or S-Video connection on your picture.
So, what do you mean by "different style plug with adapter on it"?

Rather than all this 'fratching' you might try this :-
From an MS-DOS prompt, type in debug and press the enter key.
At the dash prompt type d C000:0010 and press the enter key.

In the text output you will see the name, though possibly broken up, of your video card.

Here is an example of the debug procedure done on a 9FX Motion 771 with the S3-968 chipset and the 2.05.15 bios revision:

    C000:0010 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00-10 02 00 00 00 00 49 42 ..............IB

    C000:0030 20 42 49 4F 53 2E 20 00-BB 66 F0 01 A3 01 F0 09 BIOS. ..f......
    C000:0040 09 FF 00 02 4E 75 6D 62-65 72 20 4E 69 6E 65 20 ....Number Nine

    C000:0080 20 20 20 0E 20 4C 65 74-20 69 74 20 62 65 20 36 . Let it be 6

By hitting the d key and then the enter key again at the dash prompt, you will see a continuation of the above output which will identify the chipset (in this case 968) and bios version (shown here as 2.05.15).

By pressing the q key and then enter, you will exit the debug session and return to the "C:\>" command prompt.
Then you can decide who's doing to who !

... there are utilities that do this too ... somebody name me one that definately 'discovers' video -Hwinfo ? not sure ...

"discovering" the vid card without the drivers installed seems to be something that many utility writers have been unable to do. I haven't found one that will get it right without the drivers installed....other than the debug method and that only seems to work on older cards.... but then I haven't played with it under all circumstances.
