    ~ on desktop ?

    Got a laptop, XP home, with a file known only as "~". Deleted it, but it comes back soon after. I know we have had a thread or two on this subject; can someone enlighten me on this? Was it an MS update or something?

    there was a thread on this. it was due to an MS update and was only a backup of the address book. I believe confus-ed started the thread, and adept dug up the answer. I'd search for the thread . . . . but I don't feel like it.
