Internet Explorer / MSN Messenger Problem
Hi,
I've got a machine running windows xp home. It is connected to the internet via a cable modem. I can go to a command prompt and can randomly ping various url's without any problem. If I try to access the internet via IE or msn messenger, they both fail. I have tried a repair install on xp but no luck. Do you think a repair install on IE would work? Or do you have any other suggestions?
Cheers
Paul

Is IE setup to use your LAN to connect to the internet?
In IE goto tools/internet options/setup or lan settings.

Try this to repair them: http://www.webattack.com/get/winsockxpfix.html

Thanks I'll give it a try!
If this was the problem, wouldn't the ping tests also fail?
