So your 'old' inbox has stuff in it you want ? But its corrupt !

Sounds like catch 22 to me

    Oooo! Edit !

.. but of course there are 'thingees' to fix broken inboxes DBXtract being an example. There must be an MS 'something' that does it too, but I can only find links on fixing .pst files (like in Outlook not OE) .. ?

Here is what worked for me in this situation. Copy the folder containing Outlook Express to a safe place, and make sure it contains your mailboxes. The location of OE depends on your flavor of Windows. Just search.

    Uninstall Outlook Express

    Reboot

    Re-install Outlook Express

Import messages from an OE 6 Store Directory, and point it at the folder you saved.

    VOILA!

All your mail will be there, and your OE should work properly.

I have done this twice on my own computer, and it worked flawlessly.
