Active Directory Wizard
Is it possible to re-run the active directory wizard and re-define a server's role in AD?
Here's why I am thinking of doing this:
I have domain1.com, I have setup domain2 as a child of this so it is: domain2.domain1.com.
OR
domain1
|__domain2.domain1.com
When I configure a user on domain2, can set the user's login as @domain2.domain1.com or @domain1.com...
I would like to set it up so that it is [email protected] and have email configured this way...email will run off domain1
OR
domain1.com
domain2.com
Any advantages to doing this either way?
Does this make sense?
Following our instinct not a trend, go against the grain until the end.

What...??
OKAY.... Domain1.com = forest root
\
Domain2.Domain1.com
This is your DNS Structure not AD
No you can't re-run AD wizard...you will have to demote the server first then promote again by running wizard.
You can choose which suffix to append to the user logon name...
Please Note if these are sepperate identities then the domain structure is wrong
for example... sorry for the dots
Walmart and McDonalds
I would set them up like this...no child domain
...................................../\
...............................walmart.com = forest root
................................../__ __\.....\
................................../...............\
if I needed a child........ /................./\
domain it would be....../............mcdonalds.com = new tree
like this.................. /................../_____\
.........................../\
...................sales.walmart.com = child domain for walmart.com
......................../_____\
all my users (walmart) would still logon as [email protected]. and users for mcdonalds use [email protected].
Does this help?...

Yes, you can run dcpromo again, but you will be demoting your server and will then need to run dcpromo again to reconfigure.
No, I'm sorry, that didn't make sense to me, I'm glad it made sense to him.
