How to check hard drive status under NTFS?

I want to find out how many bad clusters are on a hard drive that has WinXP with NTFS. I used to just start a surface scan in fat32 and I could see it but I don't know how to find out in ntfs. Anyone know?
    thanks

    Will chkdsk /v do it?
Can't never did anything except whine about what he couldn't do.
Do, or do not. There is no try.

thats the glory of NTFS ,,wait till u need to flash a cd/r bios or a adsl modem bios , and they tell u to boot "pure dos" then c:/directory . and run the file ,,,,

i always keep one machine on fat32
