Post Need Help installing win 2000 or win 2003 server

I have a P3 900mhz with 512mb install and 40gb HD in my PC. I have Windows Me installed on the system but i wanted to upgraded it and turn it in to a server. The issue is that when im installing the OS and is done with all the installation it will reboot the system to go into windows, that's when the blue screen appears and don't boot up. I updated the bios, i formated the HD and still doen't work. I also started installing windows with out the NIC card, modem, tv tuner, one HD, and one CD drive and still didn't work. I also took the HD out and put it into another pc and installed windows 2000 server, but when i put it back in to the PC the same blue screen appears. Can i get some other ideas that could help me install windows 2000 server, win 2003 server, or win 2000 pro at least. Thanks.

I have had problems with blue screens like this with XP/2000 server. My problem was that I didn't install the IDE controller drivers at the beginning of the install. I had to redo the install, hit F6 at the beginning of the install and install the drivers for the IDE controller. Once I did this, the computer ran fine.

I ran into the same problem, but with a newer mb. This should not be the case with a p3 system that was described. I would look at memory and hd. You said it worked in other systems but did you test them. I would use a hardware tester and test the memory overnight. Make sure it works! Also test the hd, a bad sector can cause a blue screen too.
