outlook express delete old messages

is there any way to get outlook express to delete (email) messages older than a certain amount of time, similar to outlook's 'clean up messages' option?
simply changing to using outlook is not necessarily a good option due to certain circumstances.

Just the manual deletion from "Deleted items". Or use the option to empty "Deleted Items" on exit. That's as far as I know.
