DvD Rom Drive will not read DVD's [HELP]
Hello everyone I am new to this Forum. My wife has a Toshiba Satellite 1135 - S155 laptop. When she puts in a dvd, windows media player will play the dvd for about 5 seconds. Windows media player shuts down and and a message pops up that says that "Windows media player has encountered a problem and needs to close." She has downloaded the newest Divx player and downloaded all of the windows updates. When she trys to use other players such as the Divx the exact same thing happens. What could be the problem? Should she reinstall windows or what? Thank you in advance for your help.

If this is a DVD then DIVX is not the player, nor is WMP... you need a decent dvd player like windvd or powerdvd. This was probably supplied with the laptop as part of the recovery and utilities disks. Have a look.
