Cat 5e Cable... How Short?
I know the 100 meter standard for maximum Cat 5e length. How short can a cable be? Retailers only sell 3' as the shortest length. I need to connect two stackable switches and can crimp my own cables. Can I make one only 6 inches? Are 3 foot cables sold as the shortest for a reason?

They sell them down to 1.5 foot everywhere I go...

That's not to say you couldn't go smaller, but that's a lot of crimping and cable citifying, and BS if you ask me...if you only have a few, cool, anything over ten, just get some 1.5s and call it a day!
