Can't reinstall sound card w/o restarting
I have a gateway 3560. I've had it for about a year and a half. Right when I got it, a friend helped me format it to get all of the annoying software off...but the sound card has never functioned properly since. I've been browsing the site, but answers are so specific that I'm not sure they can help me? I've been trying to download "D00192-001-001.exe - Gateway Media Card Reader Driver Revision: 1.0.1.8" from the gateway support site, but get the same annoying automatic restart in the middle of download/install as when downloading from the driver from realtek's site or for the "multimedia audio controller" that my control panel says "the drivers for this device are not installed. (code 28), and clicking "reinstall driver." The device listed under audio devices is "realtek AC'97 Audio."
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

You want: http://support.gateway.com/support/d...ram=3560&st=kw
Download for audio: D00188-002-001.exe - Gateway Notebook Audio Driver Version: 5.12.01.5240
(did you install the chipset drivers first?)
