Unhappy i accidentally erased my sound driver!!!

    Im new here...

The story is, i erased the driver for the sound card!! Stupid me!! Its my office computer and i was trying to clean the junks inside. I remember erasing a realtek software (it looks like winamp). After that, i cant hear nothing!!! *GRRRR* I check the sound driver and its empty!?!

Ok... i dont even know what mother board this computer has. I can see the sound card is build into the motherboard. So, I took some pix of the computer. I just need help in identifying the motherboard and which driver i should look for the sound card??

Or maybe there is another way of detecting the sound card? Any help would be appreciated... Thanx in advance...

    This: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/suppor...UID=479&kind=1

    or maybe this: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/suppor...UID=479&kind=1

I think they both use the same sound driver, but the site is sooooo slow.

    Doc, no workee here...

After i download the file, and try to install it, a message box appears stating

"The archive is either in unknown format or damaged
    Cannot open C:\Documents and Settings\Wisma Duta\My Documents\My downloads\Realtek_Sound002.exe"

Downloading the 2nd and 3rd time reveal the same problem!?!

I just downloaded that file, and it opens fine in Winzip. Right-click on it and click 'Open with Winzip' then run the setup or just extract what you need.

O.k. this is the situation. I live in a place where the military controls what goes in and what goes out in the information superhighway. Most websites such as yahoo and msn e-mails are blocked. And apparently the downloading this file is also considered a threat here, thus i have to get an alternative route. Is there any other site besides the www.msi.com.tw? I tried to search around but it always leads me to the same manufacturer. Mabye somebody has their own website that host this file?? Sorry for all the trouble... but much appreciated.

    try this, from realtek

It may be the fact that it is an exe, in which case there is no way round this. You will have to go see the sysadmin.
