Will Canada allow the victim's family to sue the ever living hell out of the corrections dept for this stupid policy when the first guard gets stabbed?

Unfortunately, it is not. They were talking about it on the radio this morning, and it made me wonder if some of Julie's relatives somehow got in charge of canada? Makes ya want to

I am so glad to say that part of me is not Canadian at times like these.

So, what you are telling me is that Canada hasn't got it much better as far as the government's concerned, eh?

Canada's corrections department will not be letting guards at its highest security prisons wear stab-proof vests because, spokesman Tim Krause says, "If you have that kind of presence symbolized by [a stab-proof vest], you're sending a signal to the prisoner that you consider him to be a dangerous person."

Isn't that why they're in MAXIMUM SECURITY? I think Tim Krause should spend some time working in a maximum security prison.

The kicker is, if these guys were under indictment, not yet convicted, on the street and being pursued for arrest. People would be warned to use extreme caution and to assume they are armed and dangerous.

Once convicted, apparently it's not OK to assume your dangerous anymore. You guys must have liberal democrats up there too.

the problem in canada right now is that our judicial system is far too soft, we gott too many hippies and tree huggers left up here. And our government is messed up, they all are, but as messed up as the states? that's a bit of a leap.
