What type of memory?
What Motherboard?
How much do you have installed?
How much is showing up?

I can think of some reasons right off the bat...
1) You have the wrong kind of RAM installed. Installing High Density RAM on a low density or standard ram system will lead to only half of it showing up.
- To determine if you have high density RAM, count the number of black blocks you have on your stick of ram. Then divide that number into the amount of RAM you have on that stick. If the number is equal to or greater than 32, its high density RAM. Make sure your mobo supports high density.
2) You have different kinds of RAM sticks in each bank (slot) IE, parity in one and non-parity in the other.
3) If this is Win98, you may have a problem with emm386. One mb may not be showing up. IF this is the case consult your Memory Troubleshooter in the Win98 Helpfile.
4) Some motherboards require you to have the same amount of RAM in each slot.
5) Some motherboards require you to use the '0' or 1st slot first before you use the next. Make sure your first slot is being used.
Where did you get your RAM? IF you got it from Crucial, they do have tech support to be able to help you sort this out.
