    Low Level Format

    What is the easy way to low level format is there a free untility that will work or just use the switches?

    Who makes the HDD in the machine? Most companies will provide tool on their websites that will let you do a low level format of the drive safely then partition it and format it for you.

    You're probably talking IDE but, if you want to low level a SCSI drive you can usually do this from the controllers bios menu (unless you have an ultra cheap controller).
