cant get pc to boot from raid 0 array

close to giving up on this one..

just bought a shutle xpc , athlon 64 3200 and a couple of 37gig raptors....

alls well and happy except i cant boot from the raid array...

windows install starts fine, drivers for the raid control get installed, all files rae copied to the array ready for the install.. windows restarts the pc and then.. black screen after the raid rom is initiated.....

ive tried changing the first boot device to all the possibles.. have deismnatled and rebuilt the array, have updeted to the most recent bios revusion 015 and have tried the first 012..
have tried 3 versions of the raid drivers, have tried enabling/disabling many bios options just to see if the problem was caused by something else..

memory has tested fine, and has been running sweet for the last 3 months in another machine, both hardrives are fine, have tested with western digs own diagnostics tool and with hddseed, cpu is ok and well within temp range.. windows xp disk is ok and scrath free..

have reset the bios, and as a last resort split the array, and installed xp and booted to each of the 2 drives seperately without a hitch...

the motherboard is a shuttle fn85 revision 1.01, bios revision 015, 1 gig corsair twin x ddr400 running at spd settings,

any suggestions whould be appriciated.
