    NT4 member server in a 2003 domain

I have an interesting dilemma, and don't know where to turn.

The environment consists of two domains, one a NT4, the other 2003. The trust relationship has worked flawlessly. Users are still logging into the NT4 domain, while the 2003 AD domain houses the new servers for file sharing and other needs. Global group strategies are implemented so that adding users to shares isn't at all difficult.

Here is the dilemma; I recently installed a NT4 member server as a member of the 2003 domain, with no troubles. However, when logged into a workstation that is a member of the old domain, with a user name from the old domain I cannot gain access. I have gone into the user manager for the server, added the NT4 domain’s domain admins group (to which I am a member of) to the member servers local administrator group, and still get denied. If I login to the PC as a 2003 domain user, I can access the member server (again NT4, but member of 2003 domain) flawlessly.

Am I in trouble if I want to keep users logging into the NT4 domain, with the Nt4 member server in the new domain? Are they not going to have access to this machine???

    What am I missing?

Is the AD client installed on the new server? I know there is an issue with Win2003 domains that requires all NT4 and 9x to have the AD client.
