    agp

    I know that the 2x and 4x cards had a visible difference with the notches in the edge connector but what about 8x. Is there anyway to look at a card and say yep it's 8x or do you need to look it up with the manufacturer?

    you probably need to double check with the manufacturer, but agp 4x/8x cards have an extra slot in the agp plug-in; therefore a 1x/2x won't physically fit.outsmarted myself on an upgrade when I didn't check that and had to wait for a card.
