    Creative AudioPCI (ES1371,ES1373) (WDM)

    I just did a clean install of windows xp professional on a computer i just bought off a friend meaning i've lost all drivers.

    I have list of what was installed before the computer was wiped and it says the sound card was:
    Creative AudioPCI (ES1371,ES1373) (WDM)

    However i cannot find drivers for it.
    The only ones i can find say it needs to be installed before they can be (i'm guessing they are only driver upgrades or something?).

    How do i find the files required to install this device?

    i read another post about drivers and they said they needed the motherboard model so here it is:

    Board: Acer J87M
    Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
    BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 09/17/2002

    Welcome to windrivers ollypop. Is this a separate sound card or built into the motherboard? If it is a separate card, there should be a four digit number preceded by CT or ES on the card. If it is ES1371 or ES1373, there will not be a download from creative - these chips are natively supported in xp.

    If it is built in, what is the acer computer model # or part # (assuming your acer mb is in an acer computer)?

    The thread explains that you don't need drivers for this as XP has the drivers already... and there are links to the creative drivers if XP doesn't pick it up automatically. Just read the thread.

    It's a gateway lol. I am replacing it soon.

    Ah it's okay now, after 4 hours of searching i found the right driver, the start up jingle made me happy. If anyone is still finding problems with this just email me and i will give you the driver, 100% works for the es1373 audioPCI soundblaster.
