Strange Problem

My PC Configuration is P4 2.8Ghz with
HT,512MB DDR RAM and Intel D865GBF board.
OS:Win ME

My prob is as follows:
When I right click on 'My Computer'>Properties>Performance
Following is written in it:
Virtual Memory:MS DOS Compatibility Mode

Then the following lines follow:
Compatibility Mode Paging reduces overall system performance.
Drive C is using MS DOS Compatibility mode file system.
Drive D " "
Drive E " "

Also my pc is not running as it should under HT.
What can the problem be plz help.

First thing to do with compatibility mode is make sure you have loaded the motherboard drivers, available here

It is also possible you have got the cdrom dos drivers installed and being loaded in your config sys and autoexec.bat - Windows ME does not use those normally, but will do if set to do so.

Start, run type in
sysedit
click ok, you will get up a window with 5 notepad type files, check through the autoexec.bat and config.sys for mentions of mscdex.exe. If you find a line with that in put REM at the beginning of the line - this remarks out the line and windows will ignore it and not load the dos drivers.
